Alias

A word explanation game in one act.

Julia and Piret were classmates. Julia has enjoyed a life of fame and attention, her smile has featured on the covers of glossy magazines. Everyone knows her. Piret, on the contrary has lived her life almost invisibly. People just don’t notice her and even on photographs she usually ends up behind someone else.

After many years these two classmates meet again. And they start to play Alias. A simple game becomes a more effective way to see into their hearts than any reporter or psychologist has done before. The main thing is not to abandon the main rule – one must never forget that a game is happening.

The author Andrus Kivirähk and director Aare Toikka have collaborated already twice before on two character intimate dramas – “Karin and Pearu” and “Angel, Angel, Bring me to Heaven”. They embark on this journey again in order to observe a closeup on the fears and joys of the human existence.

Premiere: September 29, 2016 in National Library Theatre Hall

The performance is in one act and runs for 2 hour and 5 minutes
