Buddy therapy a la Kivirähk
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
Richard and Lembit used to be friends. Colleagues of yesteryear. It’s been years. Life has passed them both by. At last, Richard pays Lembit a visit but… something feels off. There’s tension in the air. That won’t stop our brave protagonists, though! Richard and Lembit decide to reminisce about the good old days – times when they excited crowds big and small on stage as actors. A trip down memory lane that is sure to pull at the heartstrings of even the most coldhearted among us. A trip that turns out to be not just therapeutic but life-changing!
Andrus Kivirähk’s “Alias” premiered in 2016, a delightful yet touching tale of two classmates (as portrayed by Merle Palmiste and Piret Rauk), where a reunion becomes so much more than that. “Final act” calls on similar motives – a story of things left unsaid, of joy and coming to terms with the hand you have been dealt.
It is also a joyous reunion for Indrek Taalmaa and Peeter Tammearu, who haven’t shared a stage for almost 30 years. Kivirähk, our national comedic treasure, brings together two Estonian theatre giants once again!
Premiere: December 17th 2024 in the Great Hall of the Sakala 3 Teatrimaja
