Writing workshop “VATinaarium”

Target group: students aged 14 and older
Takes place: after a freely chosen VAT Theatre performance. This can also be a follow-up workshop to those who have already participated in either the creative writing or the playwriting workshop. However, previous participation in workshops is not a requirement.
Duration: 90 min
Fee for the group: 80 EUR (outside of Tallinn petrol fee will be added)
CONTENT: The aim of the workshop is to encourage students to creative expression. The inspirational basis for this workshop is a performance visit in VAT Theatre, and it is up to the participating group to choose which performance they want to see. The recommended list includes “Estonian Hikikomori”, “Ekke Moor”, “Faust” and “Do you like porn?”
The workshop takes place within one week from the performance visit. In the workshop the students analyse the performance as well as write themselves (prose, dialogue, and critique). The participants develop further the story they witnessed in the performance, and then write a few shorter texts that can later be developed to full length writings.
