CONTENT: In this workshop participants engage in various writing exercises, and analyse both the outcomes and the methodologies used. We discuss what creative writing can be used for in school and how to formulate the most suitable exercises. The participants also share their experiences of using creative writing in their practice and get inspiration from their peers.

Topics: how to bring creativity about; finding inspiration and developing ideas; the steps towards a finished text; the most suitable and encouraging ways of giving feedback to students. This workshop is aimed at all teachers and youth work practitioners who think creative approaches can be used within their work.

FACILITATOR: Siret Paju founded in 2008 the creative writing school Drakadeemia where she is also currently teaching. In addition she has taught at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Estonian Academy of Arts, Tartu University and Tallinn University.

Siret studied liberal arts in Bard College Berlin. She continued her studies of theatre directing and dramaturgy at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Currently Siret is doing her graduate degree in theatre pedagogy at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
